Luck Has Nothing to do With Building Your Brand Image

HappyStPatricksDay.jpg

Have you ever wondered why the color green is really associated with St. Patrick’s Day? According to a recent Huffington Post article, the tradition of wearing green is due to Ireland’s nickname 'The Emerald Isle'. Many of us were taught as kids that wearing green makes you invisible to leprechauns that will pinch you if they see you.

When building a brand for your business the colors you pick can say a lot about your business. In many countries, colors represent various holidays, feelings or even language. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day we wanted to share with you some facts about the color green and what it can reflect relating to business.

In American culture green means ‘go’. When all systems are green it means everything is in order. Green is closely related to the Old English verb ‘gorwan’, meaning ‘to grow’. Green also symbolizes hope, money and nature. Recent political groups have taken the color as a symbol of environmental protection. Several color experts even say green represents peace and ecology. The say green is soothing; it helps alleviate anxiety, depression and nervousness.

Companies or brands that indentify primarily with the color green are, H&R Block, Starbucks, John Deere, The Masters Golf Tournament and Heineken.

No matter what colors you select to identify your company or organization, keep in mind that luck has nothing to do with building a successful visual brand. Every brand named above took a strong marketing strategy to become as strong as they are today. Do you have a marketing strategy that will continue to build positive brand awareness when you and your employees aren’t around?

The importance of a well-defined brand has a lot to do with the success of your company or organization. Is your brand consistent throughout all media? What is your brand communicating to prospective customers? At Tribe, we make sure our clients are doing everything they can to maximize their brand building efforts.

Whether you are celebrating St. Patty’s Day with family at home or friends at your neighborhood pub, have a fun and safe holiday!

Need Professional Graphics to Promote Your Event?
Hosting any event takes much coordination, cooperation and a great amount of team work. The last thing anyone would want is for all of their hard work ultimately look unorganized and unprofessional. Just like you may have different committees or departments handling certain areas of the planning, you may also want a design firm to handle the visual graphics for your event.

Tribe has been creating graphics for the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship (Rice Alliance) for nearly seven years. We design posters, web banners, ads, flyers and brochures to promote several of their venture forums.

Rice Alliance is Rice University’s nationally-recognized initiative devoted to the support of technology commercialization, entrepreneurship education, and the launch of technology companies. Its mission is to support the creation of technology-based companies and the commercialization of new technologies in the Houston community and Southwest.

The look and feel of an event can have many options. If you are not sure what you are trying to visually communicate, ask yourself a few basic questions:

    - Who is your audience and what is their purpose for attending?

    - What is the mood and experience of the event?

    - What will your attendees take away from the event?

This will help narrow down the design directions.

Ultimately, if a professional handles the design of your graphics, the event itself will look “professional”. We strive not only to appeal to your target audience but to convey important information quickly and clearly. By making your event visually appealing and interesting - the attendance is sure to follow.

“Tribe Design has worked with us for a number of years to help promote our Technology Venture Forums. The challenge is to keep the approach to these events fresh and appealing and draw attendance. Each year Tribe has created new and exciting designs that cater to our audience and help sell out the conferences.

In addition to their great design work, Francisco, Marta and the whole team are wonderful to work with. They are responsive, they listen to our needs and always come through with a quality product on time. It is always a pleasure to work with them.”
